California Dreamin’ Flight Guide & Visitor Info - California Dreamin'

FAQ

How much does a Temecula sunrise balloon ride cost?

A shared sunrise flight with California Dreamin starts at $198 per person, with the exact price set by the day of the week (currently $198 to $248). Private flights for two start at $1,450 on weekdays and $1,960 on weekends. Live pricing and availability show when you book.

How long is the balloon ride, and how long is the whole experience?

The flight itself lasts about an hour, and the full experience runs about three to three and a half hours from arrival to heading home. That covers the drive to the launch site, watching the balloon inflate, roughly an hour aloft over the vineyards, and a celebration toast after you land.

What is included in a California Dreamin flight?

Your flight includes round-trip transport to the launch site, roughly an hour aloft over Temecula wine country at sunrise, digital photos from our crew, and a celebration toast once you are safely back on the ground. Celebration add-ons like a cake ($10) or a bottle of our estate wine ($48) are available when you book.

What is the difference between a shared flight and a private flight?

A shared flight places you in a spacious, partitioned basket alongside other guests, the classic sunrise ballooning experience and the more affordable way to fly. A private flight gives your party the basket to yourselves, ideal for proposals, anniversaries, or anyone who wants the morning to be entirely their own. Private flights start at $1,450 on weekdays and $1,960 on weekends for two and are booked by phone.

What happens if my flight is cancelled for weather?

If we cannot fly safely, you choose what happens next: a full refund, a reschedule, or a gift voucher to use later. Safety decides every flight, and we would rather move a morning than fly one that is not right. Weather cancels roughly one in five flights across Temecula, so if your schedule allows, keep a backup morning open.

What if I need to cancel my booking?

Cancel at least 72 hours before your flight for a full refund. Because each flight has limited space and we plan our mornings around who is booked, cancellations inside 72 hours cannot be refunded. If the weather is the problem, that is handled separately, and you get a full refund, a reschedule, or a gift voucher, your choice.

Where do we meet, and what time?

Every flight meets at Vindemia, the private estate winery in the heart of Temecula wine country that serves as our launch base. Your exact meeting time comes with your booking confirmation, since it shifts with the sunrise through the year, and it is early, before dawn. From there our crew drives you to the morning’s launch site.

Is hot air ballooning safe?

Safety decides every California Dreamin flight, and it always comes first. Our balloons are flown by an FAA-certified commercial pilot, and we were the first company in Southern California, back in 1993, to have all drivers and vans meet California Public Utilities Commission regulations. If conditions are not right, we do not fly.

Can children fly? Is there an age or weight limit?

Guests aged 7 and up are welcome, with a maximum of 300 pounds per person. Ballooning is calm enough for grandparents and exciting enough for kids, so it suits most families.

What should I wear and bring?

Wear casual outdoor clothing and comfortable closed-toe shoes, and bring a light jacket or fleece in cooler months. Because the burners give off heat overhead, a hat is smart if you are over six feet tall or bald, and sunglasses help. Bring your camera and phone for photos, and leave other valuables locked in your car.

When is the best time of year to fly in Temecula?

Summer and fall are our favorite times to fly, with warm mornings and long, clear views across the valley. Flights run year round, weather permitting.

Can you do proposals and special occasions?

Yes, and the basket is a beautiful place to propose. We offer “Will You Marry Me” and “Congratulations” banners, and you can add a celebration cake or a bottle of our estate wine when you book. For proposals and milestones, many guests choose a private flight so the moment is entirely their own.

Who flies the balloon?

Every California Dreamin flight is piloted by our founder, David Bradley, who has flown hot air balloons since 1977 and tends the vines at Vindemia, the estate winery on our launch property. Few people know Temecula Valley from both the air and the soil.
